Welcome
to Hannah's website. Hannah is seven years old. She loves to play with Barbies
and Bratz. She loves to play with her big sister Nicole and her cats and her dog. Chucky Cheese is her favorite "fine dining" restaurant and mac-n-cheese used to be her favorite food but now it's tacos and only Taco Bell
tacos will do. Here you will be able to see pictures of Hannah and her
family. You will also be able to follow her progress through her treatment of
stage IV
Neuroblastoma which she was diagnosed with March 18, 2005. Click the
link labeled Hannah's Treatment
for detailed up to
date information on her treatment including her G-tube (feeding tube).
She
finished her first round of chemotherapy on March 26th her second round on April
15th
on May 5th they informed us that after two
rounds of chemotherapy Hannah's bone marrow is clean, and on May 17th they did
the harvest.
Her third round of chemotherapy was complete
on May 9th, her fourth round on May 27th and her fifth round on June 28th.
Hannah's surgery was performed on June 20th. Dr. Rashbaum was able
to remove the bulk of the primary tumor. She has completed her
second stem cell transplants. The stem cell transplants were by far the hardest part of the treatment
for Hannah so far. The transplant started with seven days of high dose chemotherapy not
mentioned above and then the transplant itself. The pain was so intense that a
constant morphine drip was required to manage it. In addition the Bone Marrow Transplant
unit is an isolation unit. Hannah was not been able to see her sister for weeks
at a time. The radiation therapy and accutane steps in her treatment protocol
are done. Here we go again...
On March 15th, 2007 we learned that our precious Hannah’s Neuroblastoma had recurred. Even though this news is devastating, we will not allow our hope to falter. Her courage and spirit continue to amaze and inspire us.
On April 9th Dr. Rashbaum put Hannah's central line back in and she was admitted for her chemotherapy treatment. Dr. Rapkin Said she will need chemotherapy every three weeks. Each treatment will last five days, but can be done out patient. Hannah was really happy to hear that. He also said he will be working to do what needs to be done to get her bone marrow harvested for a future transplant. He will also continue to look into the clinical trails that Hannah will qualify for and we will update her site regarding that as we learn more. We want to thank everyone for your kind words, prayers and donations. It means so much to our family just knowing how much people care.
Hannah lit the Atlantic Station Christmas tree in November. You can click here to see the video piece that NBC did about Hannah and her Family.
